Scientific Visual Communications Specialist
Speaking to scientists in their own language to help them tell a visually compelling story
I’m Rachel Davidowitz. I specialize in scientific visual communication. I have a PhD in Biology from Harvard Medical School and I have been an illustrator and animator for over 9 years.
I started my career as a scientific animator and illustrator for Digizyme, Inc. where I completed projects for companies including Cell Signaling, The Museum of Science, Boston, and Apple’s interactive Biology textbook E.O. Wilson’s LIfe on Earth.
I was a senior digital designer at ExploreLearning, where I designed and created graphics for science and math interactive games for K-12 education.
I am a freelance illustrator and animator for scientists, scientific journals. My clients include the Journal of Clinical Investigation, the Journal of Molecular Biology, scientists at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Duke University, and Princeton University, and MediVisuals (where I made animations for medical malpractice trial exhibits).
I am the senior scientific illustrator at Cobro Ventures where I design digital media to help early-stage biotechnology companies under the Cobro umbrella effectively communicate with scientific partners, lay audiences and investors.
